Nechville Musical Products announces sponsorship of RiverCity Bluegrass Festival to be held January 9-11 in Portland , Oregon .  Nechville is providing a custom Nechville Saturn banjo for raffle during the festival’s fifth  annual winter weekend.

Nechville’s has answered the call of musicians requesting a precise radius fingerboard design with clean and simple elegance at a great price.   The black Eclipse Helimount frame is built for an eternity of trouble-free, high fidelity banjo sound. With all Nechville’s convenient adjustable features, this instrument is suitable for any player or music style.

The neck is one-piece solid Honduras Mahogany, the choice of today’s professional. The ebony fingerboard is adorned with a tasteful Saturn 5th fret inlay and double realistic stars at the 12th fret. Visible side markers let you know where you are on the neck but the limited inlay is a benefit for creative expression in all keys. The Classic Nechville peghead simply displays Nechville’s elegant fine pearl logo. 

The RiverCity Saturn is customized with a rare mahogany block rim and a Nechville “Megaphonic 40” hole tone ring and “Cyclotronic” rolling rim.  The combination gives amazing warmth and volume.

The banjo comes with GHS Medium Strings, Remo frosted head, Enterprise compensated bridge, Nechville in-line tailpiece and comfort Bevel armrest. A free professional padded gig bag is also included. 

Retail price on this instrument with the custom options is $3500.

RiverCity Bluegrass Festival

The RiverCity Bluegrass Festival made its debut in January, 2005 at the Oregon Convention Center. The event was structured to offer approximately 70% bluegrass music and 30% acoustic Americana , such as folk music, Texas swing, Gospel and Country music. Since that weekend they have established a tradition of great performers at each and every festival. 

2009 will not be any exception to that standard, with a lineup that includes JD Crowe and the New South, Dr. Ralph Stanley, The Dan Tyminski Band, Sierra Hull, The Kruger Brothers, Cadillac Sky, Psychograss, Dailey and Vincent, The Fairfield Four, Darol Anger, Tony Furtado, Robin and Linda Williams, Longview, the Whites (joined by Jerry Douglas), and Hot Club of Cowtown.   Additional information is available at www.rivercitybluegrass.com.
